OCEAN GROVE/BARWON HEADS
FOR more than 100 years,
Barwon Heads during sum-
mer, but for the rest of the
year it was a quiet hamlet.
Showbiz changed that. In
1959, the closing scenes of the
film On The Beach --- starring
Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner
and Fred Astaire --- were
filmed in the town. In the late
1990s, Barwon Heads was the
primary location for ABC TV's
popular series SeaChange.
Safe swimming can be
enjoyed from the sandy river
foreshore, while ocean surf
breaks abound along the 13th
Barwon Heads is 20 kilome-
tres south-east of Geelong.
TWELVE kilometres of

to Ocean Grove.

Beach Houses", the original being featured in the ABC TV series

Another attraction is the fully restored 90 year old Boat House
that provides 4 star comfort in a heritage building.
The Beach House and the Boat House are right on the waters edge
and provide magnificent views across the bay to Port Philip Heads.
