FRILLS, flounces, lace and pearls will
help bring out your romantic side
for the May Racing Carnival, according
to Zita Pearson of Warrnambool's Jaz
Zita says femininity is very much back
in vogue for this season's fashions.
"A lot of dresses have a lot of detail in
the bodice, with a lot of lace and satin, and
flounces and frills.
"Blousing is soft and flowing. Similarly,
we're seeing draping and gathering in
a gypsy look in pants," she says. High-
waisted three-quarter pants worn over
boots and pencil skirts will also emphasise
those feminine curves.
"There's a general trend to a little
bit more tailoring, but still very much
layering, which caters for our winter,"
according to Zita.
Nature's rich autumn palette will be
reflected in this season's key pieces, Zita
says, with the emergence of antique
browns, through to charcoal and
burnished orange. The more blushed
tones of nudes and pinks will provide
the perfect complement for shoes and
Zita says staying warm and stylish
will be easy with the latest range of coat
dresses and trench coats in a variety of
rich tones --- such as red and purple ---

This season's hats and headpieces
are showing a more minimalist styling
in simple lines, while hardware is the
standout feature for handbags of all sizes
and clutch purses.
"We also have a range of very cute pins
to wear on hats or scarves in either red,
grey, or black,"Zita says.
For extra interest, and warmth, she
suggests adding a pair of the latest
season's gloves in leather, fabric or lace in
a variety of lengths.
